What's your business, and who are your customers?
I organize English afternoon Tea parties; I take care of everything for my clients so that they don't have to do a thing. I come with all the lovely table settings (the English teapots, tea cups, 3-tier cake stands, etc.) and, of course, all the delicious homemade delicacies, petits fours, scones, and finger sandwiches. No matter how old you are, a Tea Party is something that everyone enjoys!
Tell us about yourself
I'm a General Manager of a boutique hotel; on the side, I organize private events, and I'm actually in the process of opening my first little Tea Room, but my passion number 1 is cooking and, most of all, baking. I never get tired of baking! As long as I see a happy smile and hear someone telling me OMG, this is so delicious, that's all I need to make my day and want to do more.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Every new business and new adventure I started was a big accomplishment, mostly because I've always done everything on my own, but the next one to come always seems like it's going to be the biggest one. So let's see! The next one is the opening of my Tea Room; I'm very excited to see how it's going to work out.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Trying not to become a workaholic; when it's your own business, you want to give 200% of your time and your life, but that's not always the healthiest way of doing it.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
We've all heard it a thousand times, but it's true, the 1st tip is to believe in yourself, 2nd tip is to surround yourself with people that believes in you and will support you, and 3rd tip is to be positive and enjoy what you do!
