What's your business, and who are your customers?

We offer an opportunity for you to have a social outing with your friends or family over cocktails and food while creating a painting from start to finish. Switch up your normal night out and join us for some painting, or gather your friends and book a private painting party; host paints free! Are you looking for entertainment for a company event? We offer private and public events. Whichever you'd prefer, we're here to give you an exciting experience like no other. Relax and unwind from the day with a few drinks and some acrylic painting; drinking is a bonus, not a requirement. We have something for everyone, from children to grandparents! We offer one-on-one sessions, public events, private events, and play dates! We do Birthday parties, cookouts, girl's nights, company parties, etc. The list goes on and on. When painting with Tipsy Acrylics, the artistic possibilities are endless!

Tell us about yourself

I've always loved art since I was a little girl. I used to dig clay out of our creek, make sculptures and Bowles, and take them to school, and my art teacher would put it in her kiln for me; that was third grade. I was a small country girl who didn't have much to do, so I used my time creating art, whether clay, watercolor or acrylic paint! That love for art as a child finally gave me the confidence to try my own thing as an adult. My favorite thing about having my social painting events is the memories! I get to make people laugh while I teach them how to paint something they can be proud of, which makes me proud.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is that when I'm working, it doesn't feel like work, and I don't want it to end. I get to bring a side out of people they don't even know they possess. People are more creative than they give themselves credit for, and it's inspiring every time I see it.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest things that come with being a business owner are advertising, getting people in, and getting my name out there.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Take advantage of word of mouth and social networking.
  2. Do not take on more than you can handle.
  3. Have faith in the process; baby steps are still steps!
