What's your business, and who are your customers?
Tiny Stars Creative, LLC is a small creative studio located in Mukilteo, WA, specializing in solutions for small to medium-sized businesses and nonprofits. By blending online and offline techniques, our team of professionals can create tailored creative solutions for your small business.
Tell us about yourself
I started in the design industry over twenty years ago. I previously owned another company when I lived in PA, but I sold it. When I moved to Washington, I saw a need for affordable, high-quality design work. Also, a former co-worker urged me to take on his company as Tiny Stars' first client ten years ago. I love design, and I love being creative. Plus, I have great hours, which allows me to spend time with my daughter as well as teach at a local college.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I know I should say winning awards, but I feel that my biggest accomplishments are my clients' accomplishments. When they succeed, then I succeed.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Work/life balance. Cash flow.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Make sure you have enough money saved to cover your bills. Most businesses don't become profitable immediately. You should have a budget and stick to it. Delegate things that you are not good at, like bookkeeping or design.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Successful entrepreneurs understand that they need to be passionate and present in their businesses. You can't be absent and expect your business to run itself.
