What's your business, and who are your customers?

A full-service salon offering perfection in hair color, men's styling, and image consulting. I’m a world-renowned working on beauty campaigns and making clients feel more beautiful.

Tell us about yourself

My mother was a hairstylist, and from an early age, I decided that was my career direction. My father, an accountant, insisted I go to university and then make a decision. Hair and fashion were always my passion.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have shown my skills on stages around the world. Sixteen countries from Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America. I’m a three-time North American hairstylist of the Year finalist and a three-time Canadian Hairstylist of the Year winner in Color and Session Styling. I am to this day the only Canadian winner of the Goldwell Global Zoom Color completion, winning against 44 contestants from countries around the world.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Managing personalities and the commitment and dedication to a craft. Keeping up to date and setting trends is our obligation.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Have a strong business plan, a strong understanding of the industry, and a passion for business. It’s not easy, but the rewards are plentiful.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Coworkers and clients recognize my background in art and its expression and my passion for people. I pride myself on perfection and my ability to inspire. Creative business approaches, including space sharing, with Stephan W, have allowed both businesses to thrive and grow, working as a team.
