Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Debra Nipp, Co-Founder of ThreeSpaces, located in Walnut Creek, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am the co-founder of ThreeSpaces. We partner with businesses and with digital artists to bring NFT art to life to be available for purchase. We partner with hotels, workspaces, wineries, music venues, Air BnBs, and more. Patrons of these spaces can purchase NFTs, a physical reproduction of the NFT, or other merchandise via a link displayed with the art. Our goal is to support underrepresented artists and collaborate with supportive businesses to help grow market equity in Web3.

Tell us about yourself

I came into Web3 as an investor two years ago, but following a difficult scam at the onset, I leaned on the community in the space and quickly discovered amazing artists, causes, and stories in the NFT community. When trying to onboard people in my local community, I realized how little people know about that part of Web3, the potential for social change, and the amazing stories many artists share through their images. We decided that getting art onto the walls of the world and bringing these stories to life could help bring awareness, improve representation, and grow market equity. My motivation comes from my love for connecting people and partnering with others. It brings me great joy to be part of thriving, passionate, and authentic communities.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I am very proud of the partnerships we have made with businesses and with incredible artists. I pinch myself daily about the people we get to work with; so many exciting announcements to come very soon!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

As a business owner before ThreeSpaces, the hardest part of being a business is that there is little separation between work and life when running a business. You are always working. As a result of that, it's imperative that you love what you do, and I am so grateful for that.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't rush. Do your research and take all the proper steps for a solid foundation.
  2. Surround yourself with good people who can all bring different skill sets to the table.
  3. Keep reminding yourself of why you started it and what the core values are. Don't lose sight of that as you grow. It is OK to grow and evolve as long as you don't lose sight of your values.
