Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in clothing but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kiana Shuntiel, owner of Three Thirty-Three, located in Los Angeles, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

The original custom Tie Dye set known as Color Stains was founded in Atlanta, Ga, in 2016 and officially became THREE THIRTY - THREE in Los Angeles, Ca 2019. We create custom Tie Dye, making each item one of a kind. In addition to apparel and accessories, we produce personalized Color Stains kits and hosts Color Stains Tie Dye parties for individuals who enjoy creating art and fashion. We're all about catering to our customers and exceeding the expectations of their unique designs. We're passionate about custom gear, but what we love even more is helping our customers bring their vision to life.

THREE THIRTY-THREE is where art and fashion meet, striving to awaken and create individuality worldwide.

Tell us about yourself

Color Stains started as a Summer thing. The Color Stains sets would only be available for purchase over the Summer and not year-round. After receiving order requests for Color Stains throughout the year, I decided to take the next step to making Color Stains an official business. The demand for Color Stains sets year-round motivates me to keep going.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

That's a tough one. I feel like no accomplishment thus far is bigger than the other. I am grateful for every milestone and accomplishment along this journey. I never imagined that I'd see my clothing in the hands-on NBA Championship player Javele McGee, on The Price is Right, in various magazines in multiple states, or even realizing that before 2016 Tie Dye sets weren't available anywhere, and now name brand companies are making Tie Dye sets of their own. Even if I haven't received my collab with Beyonce, I know that someone sees my work, and that is an accomplishment in itself.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is realizing that no matter what, you need a team. It is difficult trusting someone with your business. Your business is your baby. So imagine how it feels to build that type of trust. There is a constant fear that people may not have the same passion for the business as you. But you need a team that believes in the business as much as you and wants to see it flourish beyond limits.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The top 3 tips I'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business would be to not limit yourself on what you can do with your talents. Whatever you're passionate about, write it down and plan it out. Secondly, keep track of everything. All money that is coming in, and money that is going out. (Including discounted or free products, services, or merchandise), and lastly, to build a team that'll grow with you.
