What's your business, and who are your customers?
Third Wall Creative is a search-focused content marketing and copywriting agency. We help venture-backed technology companies build organic growth engines with a unique combination of SEO and storytelling.
Tell us about yourself
Most of my background initially is in apparel product development, but I have always loved writing. In 2019, I wrote a book exploring the relationship between childhood bullying and entrepreneurship. In 2020, I started a newsletter, Crashing Up, which I wrote for over two years, covering the world of emerging tech and entrepreneurship. I started freelance writing in November 2021 and, by April 2022, had quit my job to go all-in on Third Wall. I love getting to help companies educate consumers and tell their stories.
Especially in areas like blockchain or AI, where concepts can be very dense and technical, taking these heavy, complex concepts and breaking them down to unlock the lightbulb moment for readers is very rewarding. It's these moments that convert people from skeptics into customers.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Building a highly profitable business and taking care of my employees.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The highs and lows. They fluctuate multiple times a day, every day. It's important to stay as neutral as possible at all times.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't count your chickens before they hatch. A deal isn't closed until the money is in your bank account.
- There's a big difference between being busy and productive. Most meetings can be emails.
- Everything takes longer than it seems, so buckle up.
