Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Renee Rosales, Founder of Theara LLC., located in Flagstaff, AZ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Theara provides relief for people under the Neurodiverse umbrella, including ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, and OCD. Our platform supports the ND population through Theara Academy, Membership, Masterclass content, Coaching, and more.

We teach simple neurological exercises, easy-to-remember acronyms, and quick-win life hacks that positively transform your everyday. Theara is helping companies, schools, parents, and Neurodivergents minimize daily challenges and maximize productivity and effectiveness.

Tell us about yourself

My work for Theara began with motherhood. As an ADHD woman, I was not quick to associate with the condition because of all the negative stigma. As an ADHD mom with Neurodiverse children, I am determined to eradicate that stigma and wear my ADHD identity like a badge of honor!

It is not enough to simply say ND discrimination is not okay. We must show people the right way forward. We must give people a path to follow. As an educator, I set out to develop a strength-based approach to Neurodiversity-centered support. My driving force is a desire to bridge the communications gaps we all struggle with and help create a world that works better for everyone.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I believe my greatest accomplishment as a business owner is also my greatest accomplishment as a mother. I have designed a program that serves the Neurodiverse and builds efficacy, equity, and empowerment for all of us. More than anything, in this life, I want to teach the ones I leave behind to lead us well.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

I believe maintaining balance and integration are two of the most challenging aspect of entrepreneurship. I believe in authenticity, meaning I must practice the habits I am teaching. So, I am constantly working to integrate well-living concepts like self-discipline, stewardship, kindness, and joy into my every day. As a passionate entrepreneur, it would be easy to let work take priority over more personal matters.

Work can provide an escape when times are tough. You have to fight for what you love. In the end, your relationships matter most. I work hard to remain focused on serving my relationships first.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Your success is reliant upon your will and determination!
  2. Always remain adaptable and ready for change!
  3. Work to remain humble. Sometimes the most powerful lessons come in the most unexpected ways.
