Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kamran Tabarraee, Founder and CEO of The Volatile Project Ltd., located in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We create art-inspired sensory cocktail experiences that take advantage of technology. We hold a unique formulation that allows us to make the highest quality and most complex craft cocktails shelf stable; then we package them in cans and bottles that are designed by artists where the flavors represent the inspiration of the art, and finally, we use augmented reality to bring the art to life. To promote the concept even further, we host in-person events and experiences that are basically surreal art galleries with cocktail pairings.

Tell us about yourself

I used to be a professional engineer for about ten years. Eventually, I had to pursue my passion and hence, started working on how to share my passion with people and do a solid, scalable business out of it. My passion has always been people and art. I find the art in any form to be part of the soul of humanity. My biggest motivation is to bring a smile to people's faces with my products and experiences.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I think the answer is NOT GIVING UP.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Stepping out of your comfort zone and facing unknown challenges.

  1. NEVER GIVE UP.
  2. Do not be afraid of change.
