What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Corporate Trainer and Coach. My clients are decision-makers who coordinate training for the leaders of their organizations.

Tell us about yourself

In my first "real job," I moved from store manager to district manager in a few months. I am a born leader who increased her leadership abilities through formal education and reading every leadership book I could get my hands on! My motivation is to help others grow because leaders beget leaders.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Sealing the deal with two large municipalities to facilitate their quarterly leadership development for multiple years.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

It is necessary in a world with CRMs and automation to create and cultivate a personal relationship with people. This must be intentional. Picking up the phone periodically and the handwritten thank you note from this Gen X'er is much appreciated by my clients.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start, then correct and perfect as you grow.
  2. Operate in integrity.
  3. Don't chase money. Create and cultivate relationships, and the money will follow.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Entrepreneurship is not freedom from work. It is the freedom to work in a personalized manner.
