What's your business, and who are your customers?
A wellness spa for busy Washingtonians. Since 2007 we have been a cornerstone in the Washington, D.C. community for holistic healing. Our team is expertly skilled in the healing arts through their diverse approach to helping you find balance. Everybody is different, and our services are curated specifically for where you are right now. Our custom approach to wellness is second to none.
Tell us about yourself
Before founding The Still Point, I spent years in the corporate arena. I did well, but like many others, I got swept up in "the grind," lost sight of myself, and experienced an entirely predictable and inevitable physical, mental, and emotional burnout. With no choice left but to take better care of myself, I discovered the world of wellness. Starting with acupuncture, I met a series of amazing healers who not only helped me heal myself but opened my eyes to the many modalities of wellness. My path to working professionally in the healing arts was sealed.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Being here 15 years later!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Balancing everything, being able to say 'no' and pass on opportunities.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Know where the money is coming from.
- Learn to flex and pivot, sometimes quickly.
- Gather an amazing team and invest in them wisely.
