What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a sales and communications expert and speaker. Typically, I am hired by corporate sales teams and associations to give the keynote talk at their big meetings or to do deeper dive seminars with the sales team or at annual conventions.

Tell us about yourself

I am an NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) graduate, and that communications science, coupled with 30+ years of corporate selling and leading companies, has given me wonderful insights into what makes people tick. I love teaching folks the secrets to charismatic communications. I believe that people do business with, and are loyal to, people they like and trust. I teach folks how to become well-liked, well-trusted, and, consequently, more persuasive.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Moving people. Having folks come back to say that some of the techniques we went over made a significant difference in their lives.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

For me, it's the details. I tend to have a view from forty thousand feet and struggle with some of the details needed day to day in business. Things like tracking expenses or listing management tasks.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Understand the issues people are having that you are qualified to help with. Adopt a belief that you deliver your service better than anyone. With that belief, your approach to clients changes from one of you needing the business to one of saving them from doing business with someone who won't serve them as well.
