What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a multidisciplinary mental health provider group with three offices in 3 states, working collaboratively to provide comprehensive outpatient mental health treatment for anxiety, depression, and other disorders.

Tell us about yourself

I went to medical school hoping to spend time with people to effect improvements in their overall healthcare. Psychiatry was the discipline that allowed me to do that. Once I joined a group practice, I enjoyed working together to provide comprehensive care and watching people's lives change.

My motivation is my team- I love helping them create programs to provide excellent care. And my patients motivate me to keep going to reach as many people as possible.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Growing my team to its size and having team members who excel.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Managing so many little details and keeping up with it all.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get a reasonable attorney, accountant, and office administrator.
  2. Do what you do best and hire good people you respect and trust to do the other stuff.
  3. Keep your goals in mind at all times- for us, it is good patient care, and as long as we keep that at the forefront, the rest falls in line.
