Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Chelsea Duggan, Founder of The Ritual Fit, located in Highland Park, IL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

The Ritual Fit is a fitness and wellness company that focuses on creating small daily rituals to level up your life. Our customers are committed to being their best selves, whether that be increasing their confidence, creating a lifestyle that includes nutrition and exercise, or managing their health as they age through agility, strength, and mobility.

Tell us about yourself

I was a competitive boxer and began personal training as it fits well around my kid's schedule. I love helping people feel good and challenge themselves. The idea of being able to make someone smile and have a good day motivates me! I love the challenge of figuring out the next best steps for each individual, as what works for one might not work for another.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is the compliments my clients share. That their clothes fit, that they feel better, that they sleep well, that they got there after thinking they wouldn't. And, of course, referrals!!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is the pressure to grow and how that actually works. Keeping on top of the day-to-day to get to what really matters can be challenging. The trick is just to put one foot in front of the other and get a little bit done each day. There is no perfection!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Create a list of 2-3 items to do each day. You'll never get through 100 long lists, and you'll be distracted. Small, steady steps each day. Batch task items where you can, especially social media. Make a list of goals and how you're expecting to achieve them, and then creep towards them. Know that your goals may change as your life does. Have a mantra, and believe in yourself!
