Optimize Business - The Process Hacker

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dev Chandra, Business Consultant of The Process Hacker, located in Pittsburgh, PA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

The Process Hacker helps you implement sales, process, and project management software to streamline and optimize your business operations, so you can focus on growth and profit! Our customers are overwhelmed, stressed, and exhausted business owners that tend to do it all and inefficiently run their entire business on documents, spreadsheets, and email.

Tell us about yourself

Several years ago, I was inspired to start a productivity blog, The Process Hacker, to write about productivity, habits, and goal setting in my time in the US Navy. I wanted to motivate and teach busy entrepreneurs and professionals to implement productivity practices, healthy habits, and business processes to achieve their wildest goals.

Since then, the blog has grown significantly, and I now help business owners be more productive, incorporate business systems, and optimize their business. At the end of the day, I am motivated by seeing the positive impact made by my clients in their lives themselves, their loved ones, their customers, and their community.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is the results that I have gotten for my clients, including helping clients create robust systems, revolutionize their productivity, write entire books, secure millions of dollars in deals, and much more!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing is the emotional ups and downs, especially if you are a solopreneur. I have learned a lot through my entrepreneurial journey, and the highs are amazing, but the lows are painful, including burning money, dealing with terrible people, and constant failures. The lows can be really hard on you, so you need to be willing to push through them.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do not give up on yourself. If you never give up, you cannot lose, and you will determine how to run and grow a business eventually.
  2. Continually build relationships and give value to them, as your network will help you succeed by giving you value back through advice, referrals, partnerships, and more.
  3. Take deliberate massive action by putting the work in and constantly learning. You need to be focused on your goals, do the hard work, keep learning, and be willing to pivot, or your business will get no traction.
