Tell us about yourself

My name is Amber Vanderburg. I am a multi-award-winning international businessperson, keynote speaker, author, and founder of The Pathwayz Group. In 2016, I was the only female, only American, and only blonde Academy elite football coach for the Adidas Gameday Academy and Paris Saint Germain Academy in Bangalore, India. I founded an international talent development company, The Pathwayz Group, in 2019. This global organization leads action-focused team development workshops and training sessions that guide teams to become more effective, more efficient, and more enjoyable. In 2022, I published my first business adventure book "Uniquely Better" about building higher performance in teams.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I consider my biggest accomplishment in business to be the team. We have attracted and maintained remarkable facilitators and business people worldwide. I feel so honored to have these people on my team and love to collaborate with them to create our future of work.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that comes with a growing business is being a steward of time and energy. There is always something to be done. I am intentional to set time to work on the business versus in the business. I am intentionally scheduling time for rest and rejuvenation. I am intentional to be a steward of my energy and focus and try to visibly act as a positive model for the team in work-life integration.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. You can't be a better version of someone else; you can only be the best version of yourself.
  2. If you can achieve your dreams all on your own, you are not dreaming big enough. If you want to do something bigger than yourself, then you must include more than yourself. Identify, grow, and maintain your team.
  3. The best decision is the right decision; the second best decision is the wrong decision, and the worst decision is no decision
  4. Extra credit tip: Failure is a part of life - and a major part of the business. So go forth, try, fail, learn, and grow!
