DJ, Hosted Karaoke, Karaoke Rentals, Live Music ( Music Services) Customers are anyone who wants a fun event. Without the music, It's not a celebration; it's a meeting!
What's your background and motivation to get into the solopreneur life?
I was a professional touring performer in the '80s who wanted to quit the road. But I love music and bringing joy into people's lives. For me, music is part of who I am, and the excitement of always something new to learn, someone new to meet, and the opportunity to make people happy sharing what I do are what drives me.
As a business owner, what does success ultimately mean to you?
Coming home from an event with lots of thank you from the people who enjoyed a celebration where we provided the music.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Getting the exposure to get leads. I find marketing for my business is not all that effective and costly.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run or grow a business today?
Passion is too hard to do if you don't love it. Consider what is the market demand in your area (Most important cause if you can't find clients you are out of business). Try to find passionate complimentary business owners to work with.
What are some of the things you put in place to maintain a healthy work/life balance and to keep it all together?
Now with COVID, it is very challenging for my industry. I try to keep positive through my faith and take a day off here and there.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
If you are young, get the highest skillset in your field that you can and always be learning. Versatility is important to create multiple sources of income.
