What's your business, and who are your customers?
I'm an artist who specializes in custom pieces for clients' homes and commercial businesses. I paint in various mediums and specialize in landscape, portrait expressionism, and abstract.
Tell us about yourself
I started painting 9 years ago, and I am completely self-taught. What started out as a hobby because I have a deep love for art quickly turned into creating my own business. What motivates me? I love creating original artwork that I never replicate. It's the client that motivates me. I incorporate a bit of them in every piece I create.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
In the last 9 years, I have sold locally and internationally over 200 original pieces for both homes and commercial establishments. I spearheaded a 2017 gallery Show called 'Paint For Dreams," featuring my art that donated half of all sales to "The Rainbow Society for Children.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest thing as a business owner is always creating new content and items that people want. Staying current and relevant is key, but also staying true to yourself.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Know your niche and perfect it.
- Know your clientele and target audience.
- Enjoy yourself, and remember why you started it in the first place when times get tough.
