Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Savanna Perry, Owner of The PA Platform, located in Augusta, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

The PA Platform is an online coaching business to assist students with navigating how to become physician assistants. My audience is undergraduate students and career changers.

Tell us about yourself

I worked part-time clinically as a dermatology physician assistant. I began blogging about becoming a PA, which led to The PA Platform being created. I'm a mom and being able to support my daughter and stay home are my motivators.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Self-publishing 2 books, helping thousands of students figure out their futures, and finding a better work-life balance by being able to work clinically part-time are all direct results of my business.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

As a business owner, trying to put an end time on work is much more challenging. There's a lot of temptation to work 24/7, and it can be challenging to turn my brain off and be present for family time.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just get started. You can research forever, but eventually, you must take action to get anywhere.
  2. Push through the plateaus and burnout. You'll have times where it feels like nothing is happening, but keep going!
  3. Find a community to support you and ask for help when needed. Grow your team before you think you need to.
