What's your business, and who are your customers?
The MYndful Movement Program supports a healthy mind-body connection in all people. The stress reduction tools and techniques are practiced by adults, youth, and children across the country and beyond. The MYndful Movement curriculum and digital resources can be found wherever you buy your books. The MYndful Teacher-Training can be taken virtually for your staff to learn and take best practices to your work and school community. Tell us about yourself
As life got more hectic, I found myself drawn to practical tools to manage my stress level. A full career as an intermediate and senior teacher and a busy family of 7 left me depleted and tired. Almost immediately after I started practicing mindfulness techniques for stress reduction and Yoga and Qigong movements, I felt calmer within myself. I dove deeply into the learning and daily practices. Now, I just can't keep it to myself. As the founder of The MYndful Movement Program, I can honestly say, these are the habits and activities that I find most helpful and that I've seen first-hand help the thousands of people I've worked with.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Hearing from the many school teachers and principals of the positive benefits their entire school community has felt since installing the MYndful Movement Program into their classrooms and staff rooms has been rewarding and fulfilling. When people send me messages after our MYndful Movement Retreats about how their lives are set on a peaceful course with self-acceptance and self-compassion, the sense of accomplishment as a useful facilitator feels great.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
As challenging times saturate our lives, I sometimes feel that I can't get the word out fast enough. Knowing that the MYndfulness techniques really do work keeps my sense of urgency strong. We will continue to broaden our reach and spread the word to all people.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The main lessons I've learned from my mentors are simple but not always easy. Finding my impassioned focus and streamlining my energy to specific goals is a daily practice in mindful self-awareness. Listening to my inner wisdom instead of the noisy chatter of the outside world is a daily practice in self-acceptance and trust.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
In a noisy world with an endless supply of negativity, we can look inward for peace and find it there through simple techniques in MYndfulness.
