What's your background and motivation to grow as a solopreneur?

What got me started creating my business is all about my healing journey. Having suffered from early trauma and having it show up in my life as anorexia, anxiety, and depression, I turned to yoga and meditation to help me heal.

I studied with many amazing teachers around the world for many many years. I gathered many certifications along the way. Yoga and meditation gave my body/mind healing in so many wonderful ways.

In 2008 I wanted to share the many invaluable practices that yoga and meditation have to offer and created Veda Yoga Therapy. Veda = knowledge, and the "Veda's" are some of the oldest written books of yoga. My passion to share knowledge and help other women find balance in all areas of their lives drives me to create online programs, classes, and workshops, as well as seen them 1-on-1 via zoom or live.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The biggest accomplishment has been in seeing other women find their way to health and happiness.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a solopreneur?

I think any business owner will tell you that you have to love, love, love what you do. Being a business owner means that you are the business, and it takes passion, patience, and a lot of time.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run or grow a small business today?

  1. Know what you are passionate about.
  2. Know who you want as customers.
  3. Keep moving forward, even if things don't seem like they are working out.

If there was one thing you could do repeatedly to help grow your business, what would it be?

Educate the healthcare industry about the benefits of yoga therapy.

What are some of the things you put in place to maintain a healthy work/life balance and to keep it all together?

I have a daily yoga and meditation practice. I eat good food. I go into nature as much as possible, and I have great friends and family.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Entrepreneurs are the individuals that can find the solutions that will solve our problems. The solutions our country and the world need right now won't come from government or big business; rather from the creative, and passionate minds and souls of entrepreneurs. Now is the time for all small businesses to support one another.
