What's your organization, and who are your members?
We are a 501c3 non-profit organization that was created after Keri Anne was tragically killed by multiple DUI offenders. We speak to students, organizations, youth groups, and law enforcement agencies nationwide.
Tell us about yourself
Our Foundation was formed after Keri Anne was tragically killed in a head-on collision caused by a multiple DUI offender on October 10th, 2015. She was just twenty years old. The Foundation's focus is to make sure that Keri and others whose lives have been taken do not become statistics. By continuing to bring awareness, we hope to ultimately end the deadly epidemic of drunk, impaired, and distracted driving. Keri's mission was to help others and to make their lives better. By forming this Foundation, we now travel nationwide, speaking to students, law enforcement agencies, corporations, youth groups, and others about the decisions we make and how they affect others.
What's your biggest accomplishment as an organization?
We don't consider the Foundation a business; it's more of a mission. To receive letters of thanks from parents, students, and others that have attended our programs is the most gratifying for us.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being an organization?
The hardest thing about our mission has to relive that tragedy that brought us to this moment.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow an organization today?
- Have a direction.
- Have a passion for what you are doing.
- Understand that others may not see or understand your goals, and you have to help them get involved.
