What's your business, and who are your customers?
Leadership development training and executive coaching for the frontline, mid-level and senior-level leaders in government, corporate, non-profits, churches, and academic institutions. We exist to develop the current and next generation of leaders.
Tell us about yourself
A native of Richmond, Virginia, I worked for the federal government for 34 years and retired in 2017. My last position was Chief of Staff with the Department of Defense at Fort Meade, Maryland. From there, I started The Johnson Leadership Group in March 2018 with a core mission to "create leaders of excellence at all levels."
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Consistent 15% growth since 2018. We are extra excited to continue to expand our offerings and reach more leaders in the USA and abroad.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Business development by far. Earning trust and confidence comes through referrals and doing good work.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Get started by attending several networking events. Network like heck!
- Get certified by reputable and recognized organizations in the marketplace. It adds credibility to your work and efforts.
- Be known as someone who connects with others for the purpose of helping them succeed.
