What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is The Good Home Company. I manufacture plant-based cleaning products in nature-inspired scents for those wanting a healthier home experience.

Tell us about yourself

I started The Good Home Company in my kitchen in 1995. I come from 4 generations of farmers, and my grandparents' home in Ohio was my inspiration. The desire to help others live healthier lives is my daily motivation.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is having a successful business for 27 years - nearly three decades, without sacrificing quality or integrity.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I think it depends on the person. For me personally, it is the day-to-day tasks of getting to the goal. I like to dream and create a vision - but the execution is not nearly as exciting for me.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. It is easier to scale up than down.
  2. The better your business does, the better you will sleep at night.
  3. A closed-loop business isn't just trendy; it is necessary for our future health.
