Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in home care but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Christine Dimmick, Founder and CEO of The Good Home Company, located in New York, NY, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is The Good Home Company. I manufacture plant-based cleaning products in nature-inspired scents for those wanting a healthier home experience.
Tell us about yourself
I started The Good Home Company in my kitchen in 1995. I come from 4 generations of farmers, and my grandparents' home in Ohio was my inspiration. The desire to help others live healthier lives is my daily motivation.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is having a successful business for 27 years - nearly three decades, without sacrificing quality or integrity.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I think it depends on the person. For me personally, it is the day-to-day tasks of getting to the goal. I like to dream and create a vision - but the execution is not nearly as exciting for me.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- It is easier to scale up than down.
- The better your business does, the better you will sleep at night.
- A closed-loop business isn't just trendy; it is necessary for our future health.
