What's your business and who are your customers?
I help B2B SaaS companies attract and engage better prospects. I serve as a fractional CMO, strategic advisor, and coach.
Tell us about yourself
I was let go by a startup amid the credit crisis in 2008. Although I had never thought of myself as an entrepreneur, I decided to launch my own marketing advisory practice (my wife provided a healthy push!). I'm excited about helping entrepreneurs succeed by making sure they do the right marketing for the right people at the right time.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Staying in business for 13 years...and working with more than 100 B2B SaaS companies.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
You need to sell and do the work at the same time. It's a challenging balancing act. As well, the business constantly needs to evolve to reflect changing market conditions and customer's needs.
What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Be clear about what you do, who you serve, and why they should work with you. Develop a brand that looks professional (no stock photos!). Leverage LinkedIn!
