Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Lianne Hall, Owner of The Fit Lab 253, located in Gig Harbor, WA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I own The Fit Lab 253. We are a Pilates studio located in Gig Harbor. Our customers range from young athletes, moms looking for a great workout to our oldest client, 94 years old.

Tell us about yourself

I started as a professional dancer. When I got injured in a show in Las Vegas, most of the dancers were using Pilates for rehab. The first time I tried it, I was sold. I started working as a PTA helping those with injuries and then opened my first studio in Gig Harbor 22 years ago.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Helping people. Hands down, there is nothing better than having someone say, 'Wow, my pain is totally gone. Thank you.'

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Management. The teaching part is easy. The management of people has taken many years to figure out, and still, new things come up every day.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Why not? If you have a passion, do what makes you happy. What brings joy to you and others?
