What's your business, and who are your customers?

Our company uses art to heal the world emotionally and spiritually so that it's a better place. We empower individuals of all ages and walks of life through the creative process to see their inner brilliance. Primarily, we provided holistic services to the elderly community living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Now, we extend our creative services to uplift the youth and transform staff through holistic retreats.

Tell us about yourself

My business began a few months before I graduated with my second art degree. After studying graphic design for six years, I made a major transition from being a Graphic Designer to becoming an entrepreneur. This was after spending one-hour painting with elders in a nursing home. There was a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction on their faces. I realized then that art has the power to transform lives beyond words. This is what led me to start my business…

Some people thought I was making a huge mistake. However, I stepped out on FAITH and followed my intuition. In a way, it was both thrilling and terrifying. Yet, I knew this was my chance to fulfill my dreams of using art to make a difference in people's lives. So, I bootstrapped my business from scratch. With just a tote bag filled with paintbrushes, palettes, and white paper, I got started. The hustle was on! At first, I wasn't even sure my business would succeed. As a matter of fact, I second-guessed myself and wondered, What am I thinking? Yet, I felt a deep pull in my heart telling me this is the direction I should take. I felt called to help this population.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

While it may seem silly, my biggest accomplishment has been the fact that I never gave up and have a business that survived both the recession and pandemic. The journey of an entrepreneur is often filled with challenges and tests. Yet, I believe it is resilience and consistency that keep us on our path to achieving our life's purpose. And I am grateful.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Maintaining my mission while keeping up with the latest trends is one of the most challenging aspects of running a business. I've found that the success of a business depends on its ability to adapt, recover, and reinvent itself in response to the changing times. Certain trending topics may catch our attention, and we may feel inclined to join in. Yet, as entrepreneurs, it is our job to figure out whether or not the trend aligns with our mission, our brand, and our purpose. In the end, you must decide what's right, which may mean going against the grain to maintain your values.

Your ability to be consistent with your schedule determines greatly how effective you'll function as a leader.

Tip #2: Perseverance
Perseverance leads to elevation! Also known as having grit, it's one of the most critical qualities of being an entrepreneur. It's the secret weapon. When you're persistent, you increase the chances of success in your business.

Expansion comes from the right connections! A connection is a person or organization who can influence your business' growth potential. As you embark on a journey of entrepreneurship, it is crucial to know who surrounds you. Pay attention to who is supporting you and who is distracting you from your purpose in life.
