What's your business, and who are your customers?
I have cultivated of business that revolves around embodiment to art and creating multiple platforms for expressions for my clients through permanent tattooing, Henna and Adornment, and Reiki energy and teaching.
Tell us about yourself
I started working with Henna when I was 19 years old; what continues to serve as a passion is my connection to drawing and how my interactions with clients continue to allow them to unfold and become more connected to their bodies, and they have a healing experience through art. I have collaborated my services through years of experience in hospitals and running Reiki clinics and healing for cancer patients and weaving that through my permanent tattooing experience bringing Reiki energy and transforming scars from cancer treatments which can be a very rewarding experience for my clients and me.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Becoming a minority and woman-owned business owner and breaking the mold in the tattoo industry that is mostly male-dominated.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I would say that advocating for a balance and creating content that is original and nurturing myself as much as nurturing my clients.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Don't limit yourself to change, and if something isn't working for you and get advice as you back from your community. Don't be afraid to apply for grants or ask for help and look local for help in collaboration and community.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
It's an exciting time for people to dream up and put into action ways of creating sustainable income and self-motivated entrepreneurs.
