Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kaci Jamison, Founder of The Empowerment Project, located in Nashville, TN, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

The Empowerment Project is a Health and Wellness company that encourages prioritizing healthy small daily habits at home to achieve a greater sense of empowerment. Typical clients are people who need super simple and sustainable plans that they can easily implement into their busy lives.

Tell us about yourself

I have a deep passion to help others and change their lives. I struggled with confidence for the majority of my life, and I noticed some changes I had made personally that changed that for me. I created The Empowerment Project because I knew that if what I was doing worked for me, it would work for others too. So I began to expand my client base and be extremely intentional with their journeys. I am motivated by my client's success. It's the small message saying, "You've changed my life," "I've never felt better in my own skin," "I have so much more energy to keep up with my kids," and "Those jeans I've been wanting to wear finally fit." It's the transformations of my team that really fuel my fire to continue on my mission of empowering others.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is the success of each and every one of my clients. My job would be nothing without them, and I am so thankful I can serve them.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things about being a business owner is giving yourself grace. You won't always get it right the first time. Don't expect perfection, and don't take mistakes or failures to heart. If something is not working, pivot and try an alternative. Keep getting it wrong until you get it right.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Know deep in your gut your why behind starting this business.
  2. Know your ideal client for your business to their core.
  3. Don't expect perfection. Give your business grace and humility to get it wrong until you get it right.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

The Empowerment Project has changed my life. It has fueled my inner fire and continues to do so each and every day. The community I've created is absolutely incredible, and I am so thankful for the success I have created.
