What's your business, and who are your customers?
We work with families that are struggling with addiction and codependency. We offer therapy, coaching, and online education for families and professionals in the addiction treatment industry and for clinicians.
Tell us about yourself
I grew up in a house of addiction and chaos. I started using drugs and alcohol when I was 13, got sober when I was 27, and went back to school at 44 to get a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. My passion is helping families, and clinicians better understand the impact of addiction on the family system and how to heal from it.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Creating a program that helps families to heal from the chaos and insanity of addiction and codependency. I wrote my second book, Chronic Hope: Families & Addiction, in 2021 with the intent of making my system available to anyone that wants it and is willing to do the work.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Trying to find the most successful way of sharing my message with the world. So many families are struggling due to addiction destroying the family, and they have no idea where to turn.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Find your niche! Become the expert in what you do.
- Do what you love and what comes naturally. Why not risk failing and something you enjoy?
- Don't quit, no matter what! It takes time and hard work, and you never know when your break is coming.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Don't be afraid to make mistakes and take chances. I have spent a lot of time doing what I thought I was supposed to do or what other people told me to do instead of what I wanted to do and following my passion. Take big risks and see what happens.
