Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rudhy Morales, Owner of The Ceramic Coating Specialist, located in Reseda, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

One of a kind paint fanatic. Love removing defects from car paint to make them look like they came straight out of a paint job. I am available to anyone who is seeking to look good and feel good every time they see their vehicle.

Tell us about yourself

School was never for me. I had always been told to either go to school or go to work, and I chose the working life. I was looking for something that would change things, that would make a difference and put a smile on people's faces. I think that’s what motivates me every single day. Knowing that I will get to meet new people, I will make a difference on one of their biggest investments and that they will have huge smiles on their faces. It brings me joy every time I give a car back to a client, and they say, “wow! you really live up and surpass expectations!”.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Working on high-end cars, meeting amazing people, and making a name for myself are some of my accomplishments. Working on Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Mercedes, meeting famous people. It makes all the sacrifices worth it. And, of course, meeting new regular people, such as plumbers, gardeners, painters, therapists, window tinters, body shops, and contractors. It’s safe to say I know a little bit of everyone and each one of them teaches me something new so that itself is my biggest accomplishment.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

People are going to tell you that your ideas are dumb and worthless and that you’re never going to get the money back that you’re investing. Self-doubt will get to you. That is one of the toughest things about being a business owner. You second-guess yourself too much. As long as you keep going, you will do just great.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don’t EVER give up. You’re going to have months where you tell yourself, is it worth it? The answer is yes. Keep digging, and you’ll eventually find goal.
  2. Do NOT go into it for the money. If you go into a business and you think about how much you can possibly make, you are sure to fail. Find something you love, and that people need, and you’ll be sure to be successful.
  3. Don’t do everything yourself. It’s impossible to run a business by yourself. Everything I’ve done is with support from friends and family and, most importantly, God. Without those three things, I would not be where I am today. Love yourself, love what you do, put God in the center and watch how prosperous you will be.
