Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Tulsi Chaturvedi, Owner of The Anubhuti, LLC., located in Suwanee, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Hello to all the readers, Tulsi here, and thank you for looking me up. I’ve been a Well-Being Holistic Therapist/Healer since 2011, combining Hypnotherapy, NLP, Time/EFT Techniques, Reiki, Past Life Regression, Release Cords, Meditation/Sound Therapy, and Counseling/Coaching to specialize in helping people with relationship and transition issues/challenges, anxiety, stress, unwanted fears and lack of confidence.

Having experienced challenges and hardships and chosen to expand the options for my life, I decided that what I really wanted to do was to help those going through similar or more challenging issues while at the same time extending my knowledge of various therapies. At the Anubhuti Center, using one or more of these disciplines, I help people deal with issues ranging from anxiety, phobias, eating disorders, and low self-esteem to weight management and blood pressure. Or I apply the gentle Japanese art of Reiki to help achieve harmony, balance, and a calmer response to life’s challenges.

I believe passionately in the importance of helping people find peace and harmony in their lives, and I draw on my own experience to find an empathic understanding of the issues others are facing. At the Anubhuti, you can experience a unique bespoke blend of relaxing and energizing Reiki, Sound Therapy, and Hypnotherapy treatments created for our clients. Imagine that our clients also enjoy it in the safety and comfort of their own homes, powered by the time-tested tradition of distant Reiki energy work and remote hypnosis techniques. I help my clients overcome the emotional exhaustion of their current situation.

The issues you need my help with are unique to you, and they can’t be reduced to a one-size-fits-all solution. This is why I take a holistic approach to the treatments I offer. I offer individual treatment sessions in my own safe, comfortable studio. However, for corporate clients, I go to their premises to work with the employees for health and wellness goals.

When it comes to my clients, I believe the person most likely to benefit is the person who’s highly motivated to overcome an issue. Like any other treatment, hypnosis may be helpful for certain conditions or in certain people. For Reiki, typically, there is no age restriction or pre-requisites, and it can be beneficial whether you’re struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, pain, or low energy.

EFT is often used to change negative feelings, reduce distressing and/or self-limiting thoughts, alter repetitive, unwanted behaviors, and is even effective for working with and resolving traumatic memories. Sound therapy and meditation can be for kids and adults to achieve a state of trance and mindfulness. The purpose of the result of all the modalities I have described is to create feelings of relaxation, peace, healing, and wellness that benefits everyone.

Tell us about yourself

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” And I truly believe this through giving my gifts back to my clients. My clients and students span the globe, and I intend to play shifting the consciousness of the planet. My passion is supporting seekers in creating meaningful change in their lives—transforming from being bound by perceived limitations to fully participating in authentic life. Because I am motivated by a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson- “Life is not about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” And that motivates me every single day in my sessions by seeing small positive changes in my clients.

I have been involved in health and healing for over a decade. I have been working with Quantum touch healing, Visualization, Healing through Sound, Positive Psychology, and Hypnosis for years. I hold a Master’s degree in Computer Sciences along with a strong educational background in Energy Medicine, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Hypnotherapy, Emotional Free Techniques, Time Techniques, Body Language Analysis, Nutrition, and Holistic Therapy. With a scientific and medical scholastic foundation, I strive to blend the world of science with alternative and holistic medicine.

Through my own struggles and challenges, be at personal, professional, emotional, or physical, in my healing journey, I understood and have personally experienced the profound healing that can transpire when you address the mind, conscious and unconscious, the body, internal and external as well as the spirit, heart, and soul. This empowered me to help and support the community through sharing my experiences, knowledge, and gifts.

I went through traumatic experiences as I entered my adulthood. The loss of my mother totally shook me and threw me off. Since I was dependent on her, of course, because she was my mentor, I just couldn’t grasp the fact that she was no more, which made me forget all her teachings. I knew that I was carrying baggage from a so-called Society since my teens to become the best I could be, personal or professional, and this burden I carried forward when I entered into my new relationships, which weren’t fulfilling and healthy because they say “Energy attracts Energy.” So I un-intentionally manifested this misery for myself. But there was a bigger lesson for me to learn and comprehend: to heal myself so I could help others. That was a tie-breaker as an insight from the Divine to change my life and help others.

I wanted to learn more about Reiki and started giving it to others more as a part-time. Since I had a full-time corporate job, I still wanted to quit, explore other holistic healing techniques, and spend time in school to learn more about the human mind. I gained my credentials in Hypnotherapy, Relationship-Transition coaching, Neuro-Linguistics Programming, and Time & EFT techniques.

Also, I love this quote by – Swami Vivekananda “Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, and live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.” I focus my practice on empirically supported healing modalities while still holding space for the metaphysical realm and the power of spiritual healing. My dharma is to share the remarkable benefits of holistic medicine from both a scientific and spiritual perspective to heal at all levels - physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

I have been supporting and part of the Coaching Program since 2017. In addition, I offer individual coaching, mindfulness training, and mentoring through my private practice. I have been a member of the IBCP (International Board of Coaches and Practitioners) since 2019. I have also worked closely with public libraries, acupuncture clinics, assisted living, and corporate companies providing classes in meditation, sound therapy, and corporate coaching based on Positive Psychology.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I am lucky to have had many, but I would like to share two of my biggest accomplishments. The first one is taking the plunge to start the Anubhuti Center. Approximately six years ago, I started my studio/healing center with the intent of healing people through holistic, energy healing. Before the Anubhuti center, I had a successful corporate career. Leaving a successful career for a more fulfilling role as a coach or a therapist, the inner work was necessary to create a business that could flourish. I feel blessed by the Divine and proud of myself for overcoming my fear of being seen as my authentic self and fully stepping into who I am today. My client always comes first, and I do all that I can to make sure they feel well cared for and ensure they are getting the best care & treatment.

The second biggest accomplishment, this one, is closer to my heart. A year back, a family reached out to me during the Covid pandemic for their 70-year-old mother, who was in the hospital for more than two months suffering from heart, and kidney disease triggered by the Covid virus. Doctors had given up the hope of her coming out of a coma. I took up the challenge, and after more than ten energy healing & sound sessions, with the doctor's help and family following through with my recommendations, she recovered and returned to normal life. For doctors, it was a miracle; for me, it was Divine & Universe doing their work and me being the channel. Saving a life gave me a lot of contentment and a sense of fulfillment.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Entrepreneurship is exciting and rewarding, but it’s not without difficulties and challenges early in the process. Beginning your journey as an entrepreneur, you’ll face dozens of hardships and challenges along the way. The first challenge you’ll face even before venturing into your business is stepping out of your comfort zone and quitting your job. To become an entrepreneur, you’ll have to give up the security and comfort of your career.

One of the hardest things about being an entrepreneur is the ebbs & flow of business. You will have months where you will not get breathing room, and some months will be average. Months where business is average, you need to be patient, keep showing up and remember what got you started with your business. It is a lot of work in every way and brings content because you are doing what you love and are passionate about.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Taking Ownership: You are 100% responsible for your life. Success happens to you when you mindfully take charge of your current reality, the state of your business, and your employees. As a leader, it is imperative that you come with compassion, kindness, and self-awareness so you can conquer all your battles. Spirituality is all about achieving growth in every area of life. So, taking ownership showcases your true commitment to your goals and values.
  2. Serving People: The money you make is directly proportional to the number of lives you touch through your products and services. Wealth creation is possible only through value creation. When you deliver value, you make money. And spirituality is nothing but serving people and touching lives. Most people also have this misconception that spirituality is about sacrifice and putting yourself through pain and penance. But this is a flawed view. Spirituality is experiencing abundance. And true abundance is to be fulfilled mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially which is what success is also about.
  3. Consciously Creating: Every entrepreneur is a creator. We create products, services, and solutions to serve people. We make a difference and do it profitably. This is how successful businesses are built! The role of a spiritual being is also to consciously create to serve their fellow humans. So, an entrepreneur making a difference by adding value to people is being spiritual, knowingly or unknowingly.
  4. Positive Mindset: Success requires having two things: a positive mindset and faith. You must be willing to take risks and accept challenges knowing fully well that the universe has your back. And it is only when you’re spiritually inclined you are able to be calm and composed enough to get to the root cause of the problem at hand, thereby coming up with better solutions.

Spirituality is not running away from your responsibilities of mastering the material plane. It is not an excuse for your incompetence through superficial claims of abstinence. It’s about having the complete human experience by pursuing and accomplishing goals that transform the lives of your clients, team members, and yourself as an entrepreneur. So, dear entrepreneur, start bringing your spiritual beliefs with you to work every day. This will help you be happier, more forgiving, and lead a life of value, of fulfillment.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Being a business owner, especially in the field of Alternate & Holistic healing, I think empathy is one of the most important things to consider. Because it’s important to understand what a client is going through and support them. Another thing I would like to share is that I feel it is very important to have patience. Because whether you are wearing a hat of a coach or a hypnotherapist, you are working with people who are experiencing difficult situations or emotions. Having patience allows us to listen to their concerns without feeling overwhelmed.
