Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Tessla Elizabeth, Founder of Tessla Elizabeth Fitness, located in Saint Petersburg, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I offer private coaching and help others heal through the power of holistic practices. When humans focus on the right nutrition, movement, breath work, meditation, etc., they will solve most of their problems. It is a real passion of mine to guide others in the right direction and help them reach their full potential mentally and physically.

Tell us about yourself

After high school, I knew I wanted to be a health teacher because that was the only topic I found myself passionate about. In my first year in college, my mom was diagnosed with cancer, and I knew I was on the right path but felt maybe I was meant for something a little different. I then changed my degree to a psychology degree specializing in counseling and loved every minute of it. Once graduating college, I knew it wasn't a health teacher or a therapist that matched my soul's true calling. I became a private fitness coach, which led me to nutrition coaching and to all the aspects holistic healing has to offer. I know now how to help so many people in multiple ways, and I never want to stop sharing my gift with the world. Each year I help more and more become healthier versions of themselves. Family, friends, or strangers who become more, they are all who keep me going along with their continued success.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is pivoting my business during 2020 and becoming more successful. Once I went virtual and saw the market for it, I knew it was the way to change more lives all over the world and not just in my city. If it weren't for the pivot, I wouldn't be where I am today, living in a place that feels like home for the first time in my life and sharing my knowledge with those who resonate with it most.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

I will say before I worked for myself, it was a lot easier to manage my time properly. Time management is something you really have to be diligent with in order to be successful with any business. You make your own time for calls, scheduling, planning, and marketing. It's up to you to take charge and also provide yourself with proper care outside of the work-related activity.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

First off, make sure you have a clear vision of what you want to become. As you get closer, the vision will become crystal clear and seem more attainable.

Second, you must believe in yourself with everything you have. If your parents don't support you, ignore them. If your friends don't support you, find new ones. The right people who believe in you will come into your life as they are meant.

Third, MAKE A PLAN AND TAKE ACTION. If you sit around thinking about what you want to create, unfortunately, nothing will appear.
