What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am the owner of two dance studios and I teach dance to students of all ages.
Tell us about yourself
It isn't work. It's a calling. Since I've been dancing since I was 4, it was a natural progression. I'm a choreographer and create all the work I teach. What keeps me going is the creativity and the joy it brings my students and myself.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The ability to stay in business for as long as I have is the most significant accomplishment.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Dealing with city ordinances, business licenses, and upkeep of all that is required to stay in business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Plan ahead.
- Be qualified in what you choose.
- Have tough outer skin. Don't take everything personally.
