Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Ashli Baker, Founder of Teach With Baker, located in Warner Robins, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Hey, I am Ashli Baker, owner of Teach With Baker. I am an educator who creates and makes things for teachers. I am currently in the tech world of teaching and trying to bring technology tips and tricks to all my teachers.

Tell us about yourself

I started out as a teacher ten years ago! I was always trying new and fun things for my class. One of my biggest philosophies was to always have fun. I was able to do that for a while, but I wanted a creative outlet. In came Teach With Baker. I got to connect with teachers from all over the world, create things, and collaborate. Being able to be creative and have fun with my business keeps me going.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

One of my biggest accomplishments with Teach With Baker is having those return customers and followers who become friends. I feel like I have really done my job when I am making real connections.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Honestly, it is a lot of work. Teach With Baker is a business that sells digital content to teachers, but I also collaborate with businesses as a creator on Instagram and TikTok. Creating content to sell and promote is a lot of work on top of a full-time job. Juggling posting, making, sharing, communicating, and all the other things on top of being a mom and an educator is tough!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The best advice to get started sounds so silly, but here it is...just start! It will be messy, and you will have no idea what you are doing but actually getting started is the hardest part! Once you get out of your head and go for it, you have already gotten through the biggest part.

The other advice I would give is to be consistent. Set some manageable goals for yourself to get started with. Setting time to make or post is key! This helps you not give up and keep going.

Lastly, have fun! Don't take yourself too seriously, and have fun. People appreciate real and can tell when you are having fun and being yourself.
