What's your business, and who are your customers?
I have two different arms of my business, you could say! TD Pharmacy Services is a drugless pharmacy that offers patients clinical services, including point of care testing, pharmacogenomic testing, and functional wellness. We help patients get to the root cause of what brings them in to see us using a holistic approach to wellness. It’s definitely not a one size fits all approach! Our focus is to dispense care, compassion, empathy, and outcomes instead of medications.
I’m also a pharmacy consultant for independent pharmacies that want to offer clinical services. Many pharmacies have great intentions to start new services but lack the time. They struggle to fill medications while losing money due to DIR fees and PBMs. That is where my team steps in to offer 1:1 strategy, support, guidance, and implementation to provide revenue-generating services that provide value to their patients. We now offer TD Pharmacy Services Academy so pharmacies can go at their own pace as well. There are constantly new modules, and pharmacies have one year of full access to all past and future content. It’s packed with 30 modules and counting!
Tell us about yourself
My business started because I saw how broken the healthcare system is in America, and patients deserve better! As a hospital pharmacist, I would see patients re-admitted for the same thing, ultimately being discharged and starting the cycle again. To break the cycle of "sick care," it will take a shift in the way we think about health and wellness. I wanted to offer services to prevent hospital re-admissions and help patients get off their medications using a holistic approach to wellness.
I've been given this amazing opportunity to help people and meet them where they are on their journey. It's fulfilling to provide my knowledge to patients and clients to move them forward. I just love helping people!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Helping over 400 patients and ten businesses in just six months of being in business. I've been blessed!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Spending your time on what matters most instead of what keeps you busy. It's the balance all new businesses must overcome!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Just start! It doesn't have to be perfect!
- Everything happens for you, not to you.
- Count your gains every day and have fun along the way. It's about the journey, not the destination.
