What's your business, and who are your customers?
Tastebuds Catering offers original dishes designed to stimulate your tastebuds. While soul food traditions still dictate our households, TB invites everyone to the culinary experience sure to expand your palette and widen your appreciation for complementary flavors.
Tell us about yourself
I fell in love with the culinary arts years ago during a trip overseas in my early teens. Since then, I've enjoyed experimenting, tasting, and creating like dishes. In 2020, I decided to hone in on this passion and enrolled in culinary school. Since graduation, I've worked vigorously in several culinary establishments until starting my own catering business in 2020. Tastebuds enjoys engaging with the community and adding experience and memories to events. Whether passing hors d'oeuvres, serving a buffet, or preparing a private dinner, we pride ourselves on originality and inclusion.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is allowing myself to believe in my future. This alone has allowed everything that has happened for me to come.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I'd say having patience is one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner. You have to truly be able to see your plan all the way through so you're not surprised or uncomfortable with the parts that aren't always ideal.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Start today, not tomorrow.
- Understand your market.
- Love what you do.
