What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are the premier broadcast television placement and talent performance coaching company. Talent Dynamics has been in business for over 25 years. Our customers are tv networks, tv stations, streamers, and C-suite level coaching customers.

Tell us about yourself

It was a simple phone call, I was a long-term client of this company, and when I was talking to the President, I asked if she ever considered selling; her answer led us down this path of owning the company. Our clients motivate me in how we can overserve them. Also, how can we evolve this company into the future.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

We have only owned the company for slightly more than 90 days; so far, our biggest accomplishment has been closing on the acquisition, if I am being fully honest.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

It is all on you! With employees, you have to take care of their needs, grow the business, manage the daily operations and look forward constantly. I work harder and longer days than I ever worked for a company.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have a business plan!
  2. Be conservative with your projections; there is always something you don't expect that will happen.
  3. Have the ability to be in the weeds on work and also at the 30 thousand-foot levels to look forward and look in your space to make sure your competitors aren't doing something better than you.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

If you are a first-time business owner like me, there is nothing that can prepare you for what you are doing. Have a group of advisors around you who can help. Don't assume anything, do the research on everything.
