What's your business, and who are your customers?
I'm a Marketing Strategist and Consultant, and I work with travel businesses and brands, service business owners, and online community leaders.
Tell us about yourself
This is actually a second business that I started in the heart of the pandemic because, like many, I was working in an unfulfilling job and needed to take control of my own future. I initially started in the VA world and quickly found out that wasn't the work that I wanted to do long-term. In 2021 when travel was slowly re-opening, a passion sparked in me creating social media content, photos, and videos through my phone. People picked up on the amazing stuff I was creating for my travel business and wanted me to start helping with different marketing components in their own business, and here we very happily are. I'm really motivated by curiosity, the passion for serving others, and doing great work to ease off the big marketing burdens my clients may be facing.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I'd say 2--the first was being able to work with a dream brand, and the second was making a profit in my second year! Now, it wasn't a lot, but it was something, haha!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The biggest struggle I'm finding right now is that I want to be accessible, but I need to make sure I'm priced for long-term growth. And that's what I really think is a big part of it--what can I do now that is going to make things easier for future me. Time off and rest and figuring out how that is going to work out are also important as I battle an autoimmune disease.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Plan for profit from Day 1!
- Prioritize rest, so you can come back and be your best self.
- Get out there and make personal relationships with both potential ideal clients and referral partners. Relationship marketing trumps all else.
