What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am an artist. I cater to any and all people depending on the service in question. I am a tattoo artist, eyelash technician, permanent makeup artist, waxing specialist, teeth whitening & tooth gem technician, and spray tan artist, to name a few.
Tell us about yourself
Eyelashes are what kicked me off. I have always wanted to be an eyelash technician and tattoo artist, but the lashes really gave me the confidence to pursue all of my dreams. I took that lash course and massage table and just kept learning, investing, and creating.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Honestly, becoming a tattoo artist has been my highlight. This business and the people I have the privilege of meeting are my families. I wake up blessed every single day.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
What is worth having isn’t hard? What isn’t hard about being a business owner, especially the last couple of years. From finding and keeping clients to supplies and bookings, each day comes with a new set of challenges.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Research. Have reasonable expectations of the industry your looking to get into. If you research your earning potential, possible clients market, etc., you will have a great understanding of what you are walking into.
- Reinvest your business. This is vital to be successful.
- Customer service is key. Without them, there is no you! Make them happy.
