Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dondre Anderson, CEO of Symphony Chips, located in Atlanta, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Our business is Gourmet Potato Chips. Our customers are people who enjoy luxury experiences that cannot be found everywhere.

Tell us about yourself

I've been working in the IT industry for over 20 years and knew I wanted a product versus service, and this seemed perfect. What motivates me to continue this business is not only its great potential but also the ability to run this business with my family and create a legacy. Also, the ability to not only provide jobs but also provide scholarships to felons who want training in manufacturing vocations.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Learning how to celebrate my journey not only as a business owner but as a person. I have learned that my business is an extension of myself, and as I grow, so will it.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I would say the hardest thing is learning every job that makes your business successful and then delegating it!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Begin with the end in mind - Understand and define what success means to you.
  2. Chance favors the prepared mind - Prepare your business for the success you expect.
  3. Celebrate your journey, not only your goals.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Remember to surround yourself with people that are also business owners! Also, find and fund a cause that will help create the type of world you want to live in.
