What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is a Home Based bakery serving New Castle and Kent Counties in Delaware.
Tell us about yourself
I have been baking since I was 7. Sweet November Bakery started out as a hobby. As time progressed, I realized that baking has become much more than that. Seeing the pure joy on people's faces as they enjoy something you created is just an amazing feeling. I want to be able to give that feeling to everyone. I am a new mom. I have a beautiful seven-month-old daughter. She is definitely my motivation these days.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner was just honestly the way I was able to push myself to start my business and keep it going without any knowledge of how anything worked.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing I would have to say is trying to build the traffic to keep the business going. It is especially challenging for me because I have no marketing experience and am not social media savvy.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Push yourself.
- Don't give up. Even when you feel it's not working out.
- Don't compare yourself to others. That will be your biggest downfall.
