What's your business, and who are your customers?
Suttonly Lit is a hand-poured candle company. I hand craft each candle myself with pure love and intention. Making sure each candle has the perfect amount of fragrance and happiness. Our customer is a person who enjoys a quality candle that is intentionally made to have you coming back for more.
Tell us about yourself
I started Suttonly Lit because I was tired of giving my money to other companies to keep my house smelling amazing. I have a love for fragrance, and candles are my happy place. So I thought to myself one day, why not? So I bought myself a few candle-making kits and started making candles. I am motivated every day by my family and our customers. Connecting with people through candles has been so therapeutic.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment has been staying in business. Being a business owner is not easy. Each day there are challenges, and I'm grateful we are able to stay in the game.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Being disciplined is one of the hardest things about being a business owner. We are just getting started; therefore, everything falls on me. From making products and content, sending emails, or having to set up and work our vending opportunities. You must be disciplined to handle all of those things, plus many more.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
