Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Susan Bennett, a Singer, Voice Actor and Professional Speaker, based in Atlanta, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a singer, keyboard player, voice actor, and public speaker. Everyone is my potential customer!

Tell us about yourself

I started in music as a child and got into my first band at Brown University. After moving to Atlanta, GA, I got into live performance, doing jingles, backup vocals for Burt Bacharach and Roy Orbison, and many others. The singing naturally led to doing voiceovers, both of which I still do today.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment, at least my most well-known accomplishment, is providing the original Voice of Siri.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

For me, the hardest thing is self-promotion. I like to have a lot of help in that area!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. I'd say know your business/job well.
  2. Listen to your potential customers and treat them with respect.
  3. Never give up!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

"Siri" is available for voiceover and speaker bookings through Wes Stevens and Tom Lawless at Vox, Inc. in Los Angeles: 323-655-8699
