What's your business, and who are your customers?

Summary of U Inc offers true support to people ages 14 and older to take the next step in their lives. We provide one on one, relationship, and group coaching. We also host workshops on confidence building, self-care techniques, and self-discovery. It provides a booklet that shows the client’s true nature and the type of jobs or careers they should consider moving forward.

Tell us about yourself

After spending many years in hospitality, doing admin jobs, and spending time in courts as a Paralegal, I was looking for something meaningful, and I wanted to change lives. I started coaching in 2018 on a part-time basis but decided to do it full-time in 2020 due to the pandemic.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is hearing clients say they appreciate the work we did together. I love when someone attributes something I did with something good happening in their life.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Marketing and networking and you need both. I have an employee mindset. I enjoy doing the job but having to do all the different aspects of being an entrepreneur is challenging, but when you see all your hard work pays off, you feel good about it.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Do your research to ensure there is a need for the service or product you provide. Network, reach out to people who have done what you want to do and learn all you can. Build your resilience, don't forget to self-care during the process. It's not easy. I am not where I want to be, but I'm moving in the right direction and enjoying the journey.
