What's your business, and who are your customers?
We provide experiential learning-based services. Which mainly include team building, team bonding activities, and leadership development. Our customers are multinational organizations who are focussed on people development.
Tell us about yourself
I have donned different hats in my corporate career, from being a salesman to a facilitator. I never had the plan to do business. Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, which took my job. I just made up my mind never to do a job again. Then I started Success Tea, and since last year we have been blessed with the taste of success.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Taking on big projects is always scary for a small team. We successfully delivered 2400 participants in-person workshop for a global team in India. That too in 3 cities on the same day. We will always be proud of this achievement.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I have been a person who trusts people from the beginning. In business, sometimes, that trust is used for personal benefits and greed. This hurts at times, but it does not change my style of giving trust; after all, the world has a lot of good people.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't wait for the perfect time to start. There is no such thing. Starting your own business is a leap of faith. You have to make the jump to start.
- Save a decent amount for running the house, especially if you have kids. Family should not suffer due to your endeavors. Have enough savings to run the house for 12 months.
- Make your brand by delivering quality and not compromising on price. You may be lured to give a discount to pick the business. But in the long run, the clients prefer quality over cost. Keep that in mind.
