What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a booking site for Stuff to Do Outside in the Space Coast (Cocoa Beach, Merritt Island) area of Florida. We specialize in creating, sourcing, and booking group activities such as beach yoga, SUP excursions, and surf adventures. We also book and facilitate bespoke meditation and yoga retreats for singles, couples, and small groups. Our customers are proactive travelers that have the desire to create memory-making experiences.
Tell us about yourself
As a yoga educator and SUP yoga teacher and enthusiast, I wanted a way to bring what I loved doing to more people. Sitting in the “tourist” traffic, my business partner and I realized that people were coming here, wanting to “do stuff,” and had the vacation money to do it but didn’t know where or how to find the “stuff.” StufftoDoOutside.com was born as an aggregate of what we love to do, who we know to facilitate those things and a little website know-how. I’m motivated by the smiles of our clients and the fact I truly enjoy being a part of making memories.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I really enjoy the cool people I meet from all over the country and the world. Whether it is a group of 75 high school dancers, 40 men on a mastermind retreat, 7 women on a bridal shower weekend, or 1 person who wants to meditate in the sunshine, each client is treated with individual attention and tender care.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Realizing that not everyone is our customer was a hard lesson.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Be ready to work hard every day, at all hours. Staying motivated takes motivation, so build a team. Success doesn’t always show up in the bank account immediately. Sometimes success is your team, your motivation, and your quality of life.
