Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kees Froeling, Co-Founder of STUDIO.WHY, located in Geldermalsen, Gelderland, Netherlands.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
At STUDIO.WHY, we help people and organizations become more innovative and successful through practical learning experiences. We offer programs and initiatives to help people learn how to be creative, solve problems, and work effectively with others, with the goal of helping them create value and navigate an unpredictable future with confidence and purpose. We often work for large organizations, like governmental organizations, commercial organizations, schools, NGOs, and healthcare.
Tell us about yourself
I started STUDIO.WHY in 2014, together with three others, on the insight that the world is changing exponentially fast. In order to stay relevant end cope with these developments, people need an entrepreneurial mindset so they are able to create value for others. Inspiring and training people to take ownership and experience how to do this gives me great energy, as they are able to make a sustainable impact.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We have organized remote events during Covid, with 300 participants around the globe. After 3 days, the participants delivered 8 interesting and useful concepts, and though they were tired, they still felt the energy to proceed.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Finding enough time to take care of not only the priorities but also the things that will become a priority to become top of mind for a broader audience.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Experiment and learn, as you do your experiments to find out what is working, not if it is working. And share seats at the table for others to join, as shared ownership will make it a little easier.
Where can people find you and your business?
If you like what you've read here and have your own story as a solo or small business entrepreneur that you'd like to share, then please answer these interview questions. We'd love to feature your journey on these pages.
