What's your business, and who are your customers?
I help people who have been failed by the imperialist, capitalist system we currently live in to create design choices for their homes & lifestyle, and community that works ~for their bodies and brains rather than ~against them. What looks like aesthetic interior styling from the outside is actually a form of resistance & healing, an invitation to cultivate a deeper connection with ourselves, each other, and the earth.
Tell us about yourself
Throughout my healing and decolonizing journey, I rediscovered my joy for designing homes. I came to understand how deeply healing reclaiming my own personal space can be, so I decided to share this knowledge & experience with others. Knowing that I'm helping people feel safe & seen & validated in their space and their existence is why I do what I do.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as an entrepreneur is doing enough personal exploration and healing before even starting this business to know what my life's vision is, how it exists in relation to this business, and how I envision it happening.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Taxes is the hardest for me.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't start a business exclusively for the money. The money is an important part of the story - you are running a business, after all - but figure out who you are & what you truly value & what you enjoy doing. The rest will fall into place.
- Discern what makes sense for you and your business because I guarantee it won't be the same as the next business.
- Go slow and do it right the first time. If something feels off, even if you don't know what it is, slow down & listen to your heart.
