What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a healthcare operations and management consultant. I would work with physicians on an individual and group level. I help to spin up new practices, turn around struggling practices, and prepare practices for private equity acquisition. Additionally, I would work with employed physicians in their contract negotiation and career planning.
Tell us about yourself
I am a translator of the business of medicine to physicians who may not have gotten the training to understand how their business works. Helping to ease the stresses of a physician's life allows them to perform better at their job and possibly save lives. If I can contribute to saving lives, that is everything.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Making that first sale. The process was tough, and the sense of confidence and excitement for that opportunity was incredible.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The ups and downs. Managing the sales cycle and ensuring that you are scoping new opportunities when you are working on your current roles.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Always have a backup plan - you never know when it will be a rainy day.
- Get into a routine - no matter what is going on, make sure you are following a daily routine.
- Build a tribe - network and build relationships to find the next deal or when you need support.
